Great at Work: How top performers do less, work better and achieve more.
With so many books out there offering insight on the theme of productivity, leaving you to figure out and implement the messages yourself; I love that this book provided ways for me to identify what sort of leader I am now through various mini-quizzes. (Let's face it – who doesn't love a quiz!)
The book is split into seven practices, and each practice is designed to help the reader maximise time and performance. The issues raised relating to mindset were in honesty, not anything new – however, the approach of the book is to offer practical guidance, and I have to admit that there were more than a few flashes of inspiration when I had those “Why didn't I think of that?” moments.
This book has also given me some great ideas that I can share with the Green Umbrella team to ensure that they are making the most of their time too. We would love to think that our ethos is to work smarter not harder and also have a fantastic work/life balance. The tips in this book, I believe, will ensure that ethos is a reality.
