We have been seeing a real decline in the reach on Facebook posts that have been using an external posting system so we decided to split test the same post and see if there was a significant difference using the internal scheduling system on Facebook, compared to using eClincher (the social media management tool that we currently use for our clients).
The results were crazy and we received 47% more exposure on our Facebook posts by using the internal scheduling software, therefore, we made the decision on 1st February to only use this system as a means of scheduling posts on Facebook for our clients.
What about Twitter and LinkedIn I hear you ask? We completed the same tests with these platforms and did not see a significant decrease in reach, therefore we would still recommend using eClincher, Hootsuite, Buffer or a similar type of scheduling software for these platforms.
Facebook are certainly the leaders when it comes to social networking platforms. We have often seen the pattern of the other social networks implementing changes that Facebook implemented a while ago, so I do wonder how long it will be before LinkedIn and Twitter introduce their own scheduling functionality. Time will tell.
