Do Not Use These Hashtags!

There are many unwritten rules to using hashtags, but this one is my biggest pet hate. Using hashtags such as:-

#Business
#Marketing
#Tip

Before you type a hashtag think to yourself, “would people search for this?”. If the answer is no, then please don’t use it.

Other unwritten rules include:

1. Never start a tweet with a hashtag, people switch off and the brain does not read the tweet.
2. Always hashtag locations
3. Never use more than three hashtags in one tweet (ideally, no more than two!).
4. Funny hashtags are awesome!

What hashtags do you use the most? Have a look down your newsfeed and see if it is flooded with irrelevant hashtags, if so then it is time to change your strategy.
