Have you verified your Facebook page? By adding a little grey tick next to your business name on your Facebook page, it shows the world that your page is the official one for your business. It is a great way to stop spammers creating bogus accounts.

Note: You can only verify your business page if you are set up as a local business. If your account is set up as a product / brand / public figure etc then you are unable to verify your account at this moment in time.

How do you verify your account?

Simply click settings > then on the general info tab you will see page verification. Simply click edit and you then have two choices.

a) Verify by phone
b) Verify by sending a document

I have struggled to verify any of my accounts by phone, therefore we simply emailed Facebook a utility bill that had our address on, and our little tick appeared within 24 hours.

What is the difference between a blue tick and a grey tick?

Grey ticks – are for local businesses
Blue ticks – are for public figures / celebs.
