03:20 – Twitter is working on a new element of its Community Notes contextual info indicators which would enable users to include notes on visuals attached to tweets, and may help regulate AI-generated images.

09:05 – Meta is introducing new Ad options; these include making its Click-to-Messenger Ads available within Facebook Reels, which will enable businesses to drive direct DM contact via Reels clips, and making WhatsApp Conversion optimisation available for Facebook Reels Ads.

13:17 – News changes fast in the world of Twitter. Elon Musk tweeted that Twitter Blue subscribers will be the only tweets featured in the For You page – fast forward 24 hours and it seems Elon has changed his mind, tweeting this isn’t the case.

15:30 – Stats published show that 50% of all Twitter blue subscribers have less than 1,000 followers, and 78% of that have less than 100 followers!

18:55 – Elon Musk and top AI researchers have called for a pause on ‘giant AI experiments’ for 6 months over fears of the “profound risks to society and humanity” they claim this software poses.

23:31 – TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, is driving another of its social platforms into the Top Charts of the U.S. App Store. ByteDance-owned app Lemon8, an Instagram rival that describes itself as a “lifestyle community,” jumped into the U.S. and is climbing the App Store. 32: 31 – YouTube plans to create content packages centered around songs that are trending on YouTube among Gen Zers, which will roll out later this summer.

38:18 – The founders of Yoast SEO plugin have announced a WordPress accessibility plugin that scans and reports on accessibility issues and makes it easy to troubleshoot entire websites.

40:05 – Ofcom has released its annual report, and stats show that Snapchat users in the UK aged just 2-5 years old have increased! Scary stuff!
