Here are the snippets:

03:00 – Instagram has added a new feature allowing users to add GIFs to comments. This feature is available in the latest version of the app.

07:21 – We reflect back to the time Instagram had the “Dislike” button

09:28 – Meta is currently working on a new text-based social networking app designed to directly compete with Twitter. The aim is to create a space where creators and public figures can share timely updates about interests. But this is very different from meta. It will be a decentralized platform. So whereas Instagram and Facebook are very linked, this is going to be completely separate. We have no official name or launch date, but stay tuned!

12:25 – Stats show a huge 60% of Twitter users have taken a break from the app since Elon Musk bought the business, and it’s estimated that 25% of users will no longer be active at all in the next 12 months!

18:16 – As Elon looks to make Twitter an ‘everything app’, parent company X Corp has acquired a job-matching start-up app called Laskie. Elon’s long-term plan is to create a platform that mirrors WeChat in China (like WhatsApp) The concept is to have a social platform that would also facilitate simple, in-stream payments and then incorporate additional functionalities from there.

24:28 – Twitter will now allow you choose/change the playback speed option in video.

25:25 – Sprout Social has published its latest report, and the data on when the best time to post has changed somewhat. (Check out the stats!) See you next week!
