It’s that time of year again! The summer has drawn to a close, and Autumn is starting to rise from its slumber. That means it’s time for us to head to Birmingham for the Autumn Recruitment Agency Expo at the NEC. This is a fantastic event in the calendar of the Recruitment world as it brings intentional recruitment leaders together in one room, all of them looking for solutions that will take their business to the next level and for learning that will help them take their businesses even further forward than they’ve gone before.

Both days of the event are always epic – however, with rail strikes planned on Day 1, Day 2 is set to be full on! This is a blessing as the speakers I’m most looking forward to are all scheduled for that day!

Who’s speaking at RecExpo?

As always there are a bunch of people speaking over the two days, all with exceptional value to share. Here are the ones I’m determined not to miss!

Simon Bliss, TEAM – Day 2, 10 am

Simon will be dropping some bombshells on how recruiters can increase revenue by 50% and profits by 200%!!! Having grown his own recruitment agency to a successful exit and now working with a number of agencies via the TEAM network, I know this session will be gold.

Wendy McDougall, Firefish Software – Day 2, 11 am

Wendy’s sessions are always popular at RecExpo because she always delivers! This time, Wendy will be sharing a bunch of stuff about benchmarking and how to outpace competitors. As you start to make plans for growth in 2024, this is definitely one of the sessions that will give you some actionable things to help in making those plans!

ME!!! – Day 2, 12 noon

It’s my turn! I’ll be talking about how to ensure you add value from a social media and marketing perspective rather than just making more noise. This is a new talk from me so expect the unexpected!

Imran Ahmed, Success Psychology – Day 2, 12.30 pm

A new speaker for Rec Expo, Imran will be talking about what it is to be a resilient leader in the current marketplace. What it takes, how you show up for your candidates and clients, your team and more importantly for yourself. With the last 12 months in recruitment being such a rollercoaster, this session could not be better timed!

We’re exhibiting!

The GU team will be hanging out on stand A52 ready to say hello and looking forward to giving many of our old friends a tight squeeze! I’ll be running around as usual and catching up with a bunch of familiar faces. And, of course, George will be there to ready for a selfie!
