It's the penultimate Friday before Christmas, and many of you will be disappearing already to spend a few extra days taking a well-earned break. So rather than sharing a new idea that you potentially won't have time to get excited about, I thought I'd share with you some of the reflections I've been doing on what's worked this year. Knowing what to put into our content strategy next year means understanding what you, our audience, have found most useful this year, what was most searched for, most viewed, and most read - so here you go! There aren't many brands these days that aren't using video - but if you're only just getting started, this is one with reading!
Ok, this is an old blog! Evidence that your articles aren't always one-hit wonders! If you're using Facebook, this is for you. However, the ideas translate well on other platforms too.
In a world where social media is constantly being slated for its negative impacts, let's just take a moment to appreciate some of the positivity that's out there as well! Again, this probably needs an update as it's a couple of years old, but it will certainly get you thinking and hunting down some lighter content for your feeds!

I remember the day I wrote this... it was around the time of black lives matter, and so it's a more personal article in terms of what I deliver. The message, however, is just as relevant today as it was then from a marketing perspective.
Of course this is on the list! We now have so many options when it comes to social media channels! And in a world where people like me are encouraging you to be present on more than just one channel and still crack on with the day job, of course there's some overwhelm. Luckily there are also ways to combat it!
I'm shocked - I don't think there's been anything on Twitter in the top 10 for years! Perhaps the Musk dynasty has sparked some interest in this platform after all! This is why we look at this stuff!

So there you have it - the most read marketing articles from the blog this year! What does it tell me?
Firstly, the questions we've always been asked are always going to be circulating. What do I post? How often? etc., and so these need to be consistent themes in what we put together for you next year.
Secondly, I'm seeing people wanting to make sure they're feeding their minds with positivity and not getting caught in the overwhelm of being online - which is only a good thing!
And lastly, as I look at these (and further down the list beyond the top 10), it's obvious we're all looking for ways to stand out and be a little different. Jump on trends in a way that works and gets us that early adopter advantage - but most importantly, how to do it the right way!
In January, I'll be celebrating 10 years of helping you all do just that!
